The Italian Diabetology Society (Società Italiana di Diabetologia), founded in 1964, is devoted to the promotion and dissemination of knowledge of all aspects of diabetes, by encouraging prevention, research, clinical and therapeutic advances in the field of diabetes.
The ultimate goal of Sid is well-being of people with diabetes. Membership is now more than 1600 and is open to all scientists and physicians working in the area of diabetes.
